Winner of the 2019 E-bike enduro national championship in Australia, Carlson came into the race focused on gaining the title for another year. He raced on his Reign E+ team bike with a SyncDrive Pro motor and Maestro rear suspension, along with his Giant Line trail shoes. After a few crashes in the opening stage, he came roaring back on Sunday to secure the overall win.

Carlson and other competitors faced wild changes in weather and track conditions over two days of competition at GreenValleys Mountain Bike Park, located in the foothills of Macquarie Pass National Park in New South Wales.

“We were greeted with near 40-degree [C] heat for Saturday’s opening stage, followed by an overnight storm that produced ice-like conditions on Sunday morning for the remaining five stages,” Carlson said. “I made sure to put all my effort into Sunday and I’m really happy with how I rode. My Reign E+ performed perfectly all weekend, and the range of adjustment on my Fox suspension helped me find grip in the changing conditions—which really paid off in the end for the win.”

Now Carlson turns his attention toward the 2022 Australian E-XC National Championships, scheduled for February. He has won it the past two years and will aim to defend his jersey again on the new Trance X Advanced E+.
